Political Gambits ~ Tag Kura

Muttering as the Mynock descended through Felucia's atmosphere, Cade made a face at the planet - as if he were telling the planet just how much it sucked. He could feel the planet in the force - Felucia was like a living force storm. Shifting towards the dark, there were areas on the planet that were so evil and twisted by the oppression of the Gossams that creatures as benign as the native Felucian's were twisted into tribe-dwelling darkness-worshiping monsters that were literally PART of the forest. The worst part, was that the planet was part of Krayt's former empire - before he'd returned, it had been one of the Ithroian settlements after their homeworld had been devastated... then it had just been hell.

For a hell hole, it was an important hell hole. Ignored or not, it was part of the Tion Cluster - one of the most important GA holdings in the Outer Rim. And the main reason neither the GA or the Jedi had ever done anything about the Gossam oppression of the two native Felucian species. The Gossams and their government holdings were important to the Galactic Alliance... especially with all the rebuilding it required. But even with that, the GA was still trying to mediate between the Gossams and the various native Felucian sub-species - if unable to break down the militant Gossam's treatment of them, at least make the lives of the natives a bit easier than just working in run-down farms or being twisted in the jungles.

At least that was what the Galactic Alliance was saying publicly - in truth, Cade was the head-runner for this mission. He'd been contacted because not only was Felucia a former One Sith planet, but there were reports that the twisted jungle-living Felucians were being trained in the darkside. Worse, the 'force storm' that made up Felucia seemed to be growing more and more unstable, and if someone was harnessing it or worse...

Suffice to say, Cade's mission was to investigate the Felucian villages while a newly Knighted Jedi known as Kura... something, was supposed to play senator and keep everyone focused AWAY from him.

Jerking the Mynock to the left as a particularly big bug flew past his portside, Cade muttered and spun the Mynock into a dive towards the landing platform floating in one of the huge swamps that made up Felucia. Jerking his ship upwards at the last second, Cade skidded to a halt inches away from the far-side of the landing-pad wall and came to a stop. Standing up out of his seat, the former Jedi checked his gear and weapons and - nodding to himself - beckoned to R2, "C'mon you little bum, time to keep me safe for women everywhere," beckoning for the ramp on the far side of the Mynock Cade made a face at the smell of the tepid swamp and scowled, "Whole spastin place smells like a diaper... alright R2, where'd that Jedi kid say we were supposed to meet the GA delegation?"

He was late.

Kura had been waiting around for Cade Skywalker for what seemed like hours now, and she was getting impatient. Why another Jedi couldn't have been assigned to try to facilitate peaceful talks between the Felucians and the Gossams, she didn't know. Maybe it was an assumption that, with her upbringing and heritage, she might have some sort of affinity with the Felucian natives, she didn't know, but she certainly didn't appreciate being kept waiting.

The air was ripe and warm, the scents from the swamps and fungus forests tickling her nose. It was nothing like Shili, and yet reminded her of home far more than she would care to admit. Her robes whipping around her in the warm, humid wind that was traversing the landing platform, Kura shielded her eyes to watch as a ship came down rather quickly, and its ramp descended. Stepping forward, she stood near to the bottom of the ramp, her hands clasped in front of her, and her face sombre.

There were a thousand places she would rather be right now, and a hundred people she would rather be with than escorting a loose cannon on a mission of a delicate nature such as this.

"Well how am I supposed to remember all the details? That's what I have you for!" rolling his eyes at R2's rude reply, Cade started to argue again - but stopped halfway when he saw his 'partner' standing at the foot of the Mynock. His first though was how young Jedi kept getting. The next thought wasn't exactly FIT for family viewing as the Jedi robes she wore didn't seem to be much good for hiding her...

Physicality

The final though was much like the first though - young. Too young. And when Cade gave her his traditional half-smile (guaranteed to win all women, babies and children over instantly) and received only a cold stare, the former Jedi made one last annotation to his file on this Kura partner person

She probably wasn't going to be anymore fun to work with than that Halcyon kid...

"Cade Skywalker," he said as he descended the ramp and presented himself to the young Jedi, "Pirate, trouble-maker and all-around source of Jedi black-op missions," nudging R2 with his foot, Cade said, "This little guy is R2-D2, my girlfriend's latest pet and the one who keeps important things like names and destination and landing times... he doesn't give that information OUT, but he does keep it for me," rolling his eyes when R2 tweeted at him Cade said, "Look I agreed to share the blame this time, that doesn't mean I don't get to blame you first,"

Turning his attention to the Mynock and, gesturing with the force, grinned as the ramp slid up and made a noise like a speeder-alarm. Chuckling to himself, Cade returned his gaze to Kura but the grin melted off his face when he just got the same 'stare' as before, "It was... a joke like... those uh... ahem," shrugging, Cade looked away and stuck his hands in his pockets, "Stang, try to make a Jedi laugh... alright, business then - are you handing out the briefing on what parts of the jungle and swamp I'm investigating or have they got brass this time?"

Cade smirked, "I haven't spasted off in front of any admirals or generals in a long time - could be fun,"

Cocky, over-confident, and with serious tickets on himself.

That was Kura's first impression of Cade Skywalker as he loped down the ramp, an R2 unit in tow, looking for all the world as though he owned the planet and everything on it. Including her. Her black gaze grew more steely as his eyes raked over her form, even though she was clothed in her Jedi tunic, pants and cloak, as though he were searching for what lay beneath. Needless to say, there was no way that the former Jedi was going to get even the merest glimpse of anything other than what he could see at the moment.

"You are late."

His little display with the droid was far from amusing, and Kura stood stoically, her hands still clasped in front of her, as Cade introduced himself. "I can well believe that you are a trouble maker," she acknowledged, inclining her head. "My name is Kura Nuhok, Jedi Knight, and I am apparently here to aid with talks between the Felucians and the Gossam people." She cut right to the chase, ignoring his attempts at showing off and humour, which were hitting wide of the mark. While she came over as serious and intense, Kura did have a sense of humour. It just took a little to bring it out of her.

Blinking in silence as Cade tried to explain that he had been joking, Kura allowed herself a tiny smile as he tried to bring things to a businesslike tone. He failed. "I would not recommend airing your grievances or misbehaving in front of those who shall be briefing us," she replied flatly. "My portion of the mission depends upon their goodwill and I shall not be able to function adequately if you have already upset them." She held out an arm, indicating the building behind them. "If you will come this way, we are already late for the briefing." Without waiting for another word, she turned and strode away into the low building where the talks were taking place.

"Well, like I said, R2-" His grin fading with every passing second, Cade was nothing but scowls by the time she turned and 'floated' off down the ramp towards the exit. Turning back to his droid, Cade started to say, "R2-" but the little droid had turned around and headed back up the ramp. Rolling his eyes, Cade stuck his hands into his longcoat and stalked down the ramp.

Of course, R2 could decide to hide on the Mynock - he'd had his fill of stuffy Jedi. Cade wasn't so lucky - especially since her mission was only a cover for his. Getting the Gossams and the Felucian's to talk was nothing short of impossible. Especially since the Gossam's regularly hired mercs to force the farming natives off their land - something they openly admitted to doing

And even had adverts for up on the holonet...

As they entered the command base for the GA operation, Cade looked around him. Many Gossam's (as they were the one's that built the floating swamp-cities) were hobbling here and there on their stumpy legs. A few of the long-necked farming felucian's could be seen - but Cade couldn't seem to spot even one of the viscous and tribal jungle felucians. No doubt they'd been completely excluded from the meeting - probably something to do with killing and skinning the people who came to try and invite them...

"Ah, Knight Skywalker! Knight Nuhok!" glancing as a portly looking woman came running up towards them, Cade cringed inwardly. A senator had been expected - but he'd been hoping the military would be handling the briefing. Biting his tongue as the woman bowed to him and Kura, Cade did his best to just nod - it was bad enough this Jedi child was irritated with him, as much fun as it would have been to tell the senator to go away and just get the briefing done with - he didn't need a lecture from someone who'd just made Knight... never mind what K'Kruhk would have said if he'd found out.

Or how long THAT lecture would have been...

"We are so grateful you could come! General Razga was worried you wouldn't make it in time!" as she spoke, a tall gangly-looking Twi'lek male came walking up - his grey GA military uniform slightly stained from perspiration (it was a wonder the portly senator wasn't as sweaty as the rest of them) he looked tired but relieved, "She's not kidding, as you both know this mission is of the utmost importance - so important we had to make sure the talks were handled by Jedi," as he spoke he ushered Cade and Kura into the command center. The minute the doors whirred shut and they were out of sight (and sound) by the Gossams and Felucians, the General held a finger to his lips as he glanced over to one of his lieutenants...

And finally breathed when they were given the all clear

"Thank the force - we've made twelve or sixteen passes and found almost a hundred listening devices spread out through this area alone," glancing at Kura and Cade, he said, "Knight Skywalker, Knight Nuhok - I'd like you to meet Tilani Shal-Don, GA Intelligence," as he spoke, the portly 'senator' pressed a button on her wrist and the long flowing gowns, elderly-looking face and portly exterior vanished in a holographic flash - leaving a much tinnier woman with scruffy purple hair and green skin in her place, "Nice to finally meet you both - as I'm sure Master K'Kruhk mentioned, we've got a problem here - which of you is to take my place in the talks and which is the ground-agent?"

Staring at her, Cade just grinned, "A wrist-mounted hologenerator... boy you GAI agents get all the swag!" smirking, the Mirialan woman said, "I'm guessing from the use of 'swag' that tiny here ISN'T our distraction?" chuckling, Cade crossed his arms and said challengingly, "Who you callin tiny?"

Kura felt Cade following in her wake, and didn't even bother looking back. However, she afforded herself a small smile as she heard the droid retreating back up the ramp of the shuttle. The Togruta weren't to everyone's tastes, with their famous preference for action over words, and their straight talking manner, and, clearly, the R2 unit had formed the common opinion of her species. The smile stayed in place for a few seconds as she headed into the command base.

It was teeming with Gossams and Felucians, but there was no evidence of the Jungle Felucians whose habitats were being decimated. Despite the talks being a cover for the true mission that Cade was to carry out, Kura had hoped that the GA would have at least have been able to persuade a single delegate from the Jungle Felucians to attend. As it were, if the indigenous species were to get wind of the talks, bloodshed was surely inevitable. In one way, she felt for the natives: to some extent, they and the Togruta shared certain traits. The difference was that the Togruta preferred peace and family to war, and, as such, had managed to conquer a lot of their more base natures.

Giving a deep, respectful nod to the Senator who approached, Kura smiled slightly, burying her nerves as deeply as possible. It wouldn't do for them to know that a Jedi Knight might have their own misgivings about mediating the dispute, despite the fact that the talks were little more than a cover for whatever it was that Skywalker had been employed to do. Frowning lightly, Kura felt something in the Force that indicated that the Senator might not be all she seemed to be. But still she smiled. "We are sorry that we are late," she apologised. "However, we are here now, and you have our services for however long you might need us."

The Twi'lek soldier, however, looked a lot more nervous than the Senator, and Kura couldn't help but feel sorry for him. Following, as bid, into a conference room, she nodded as everyone was shushed to silence, and the Twi'lek explained the need for secrecy. "It is understandable," replied Kura soberly, an eyebrow arcing as the GA soldier introduced them to the true face of the Senator. Kura held out a hand. "I am honoured to make your acquaintance." The woman shook her hand, and then Kura repeated the gesture to the General.

Cade, however, as expected, took the opportunity to joke around. Kura merely blinked impassively. "No, I am to be your distraction," she affirmed. "Skywalked is to function as your ground agent, performing whatever duties that entails." She shot him a quick glare. "It is my opinion that is the best possible division of labour, regardless of how Grand Master K'Kruhk had advised you." It was clear that Kura held little regard for Cade's negotiation skills, at least based on their short acquaintance. She clasped her hands in front of her.

"So... we have a few scant details. Please would you brief us on the matter fully?" She was in no mood to mess around, even though it was something that Kaz, had he been present, would no doubt have encouraged.

Making a stupid face when Kura shot him a glare, Cade just kept quiet - as much fun as it would be to annoy the GAI agent or the General, doing it in front of the 'Jedi Princess' wasn't worth it.

Girl couldn't take a joke to save her well-endowed head tails...

"The Grandmaster said that a young Jedi Knight named Kura was to lead the negotiations but that if she felt for a change in the status quo then Skywalker would be allowed to take her place," the senator shrugged, "It doesn't really matter that much - this whole thing is a chaotic sham through and through," the general snorted, "You can stanging say that again! The non-jungle Felucian's are isolationists and farmers - they couldn't care less what the Gossams are doing on their world as long as they can keep farming and live in peace. During the Clone Wars and even the Vong wars they stayed on this planet and kept farming - they've hired bounty hunters, bent their knees to sith, they've outlasted everything - including the Gossams,"

"Because of that though, their very independent - they believe they can solve any problem themselves... including their own livestock showing up slaughtered with the Lightsaber of a Jungle Felucian who was shot while trying to escape," activating the control on his belt, the General watched as the scanner on the far wall lit up to display pictures of the huge native blue Felucian worm-like insects, their insides gutted out and strewn about on a barn floor, "The Gossams are at war with the Jungle Felucians - the non-jungle Felucian's don't want anything to do with them, they say that some of their young go wild from time to time and are ostracized from their families. They don't understand why the Jungle Felucian's would attack their outlying farms, but - bull headed or not - they're angry, and that's why they called us,"

Turning the monitor off, the General said, "Most of my advisors and the GAI agree that the farmers just want revenge - in and of itself they know that the Gossams hold most of the cards here. They just want to make life for the Gossams as hard as possible, so they'll get angry and punish the jungle Felucians - maybe enough for them to leave the farmers alone," he shrugged, "Even if we COULD talk peace between these three groups, the most important one - the Jungle Felucians - won't talk to us, we sent several groups to try and get them to meet for the summit and lost almost half of the soldiers escorting each group,"

"And so we come to the Jedi," said the senator-turned-GAI agent, "We can't win this debate - the Gossams won't hand this planet over, and the Felucian natives will outlast them one way or another. But this..." reaching into the case on the table, the GAI agent plucked out a blood-soaked Lightsaber hilt. Covered in several barbs and spikes, the weapon 'looked' dangerous, and Cade flinched when he felt the 'aura' the weapon was projecting. Setting it on the table, the agent said, "Your council said this place is like a 'force storm' or something like that," leaning on the table, the agent pointed at the hilt, "The force is so off kilter here that even those of us with no potential can sense something is wrong... but over the six months of being here, I haven't seen anything... that creeps me out as much as that hilt,"

The General nodded, "It's powered by energy-cells that come from a small stock company on Coruscant... a company that was taken over by the One Sith when they held your temple. For it to be all the way out here..." sighing, the agent said, "It's a mess, like we've been saying... for all intents and purposes we have to string the negotiations out without getting any of the three sides to throw us out - they have that authority, this isn't our planet. The Tion Cluster is part of our space but the planets inside it are owned by families and companies, we aren't the Empire... and we have to have a reason to be here,"

Cade smirked, "So, basically, Ms. Nuhok's job is going to be harder than mine?" the agent nodded firmly, "Decidedly, master K'Kruhk said that hilt would give you some sort of impression you could track - Knight Nuhok here will be completely in the d-" her head jerking upwards as the whole area shook, the Agent glanced at General Razga who said, "Get me a scan of this branch of the marsh town - tell me what's going on," stretching his senses out, Cade scowled as his 'push' for knowledge was all but rebuffed by the constant force-storm that made up the planet, "Dunno what that was, but there's enough panic out there for the city to have blown up..."

Glancing at the Command Center door as one of the Gossams and two Felucian Farmers began beating on it and shouting something in their own language - obviously afraid and trying to explain themselves through the transparisteel, Cade muttered, "I'm guessing that these marsh-towns aren't MEANT to shake?"

Kura nodded as the intelligence agent confirmed that Gran Master K'Kruhk had recommended that she lead the negotiations. At least, so far, Skywalker had shown all the interpersonal skills of a rampant Bantha, and, whilst Kura, like most of her people, preferred silence to a surfeit of words, she at least knew when to be silent, and when to speak.

Now was clearly one of those times when silence would be prudent.

Listening intently to the briefing, Kura nodded occasionally, committing everything to memory as the delicate situation on Felucia was outlined. She waited for a suitable moment, cocked her head, and gave her opinion in as few words as she could manage. "So the Gossams are at war with the Jungle Felucians, the farming Felucians want nothing to do with the Jungle Felucians, who, incidentally, are attacking the farming Felucians. In the midst of all this, the farming Felucians want revenge against the Gossams... for what?"

The whole situation really made no sense at all, and Kura shrugged. "It sounds as though each group feels as though they have a right to be here, but neither of the other groups are welcome. Is that right?" If she was correct, the talks, sham though they were, were most likely going to be far more difficult than first anticipated. Briefly, she wondered why the Grand Master had sent her, rather than another, more experienced Knight. There was far more that had the chance to go wrong than to go right, and, all in all, the entire situation stank like a week-old akul corpse left to rot in the blazing Shili sun.

A shiver rolled through the Force and into Kura as the vicious-looking lightsaber hilt was laid on the table, and she saw flashes of blood, and death and felt the sheer evil rippling from it. Casting a glance at Skywalker, she frowned. Precisely what was she the decoy for? What was the summit covering up for? "Where was that hilt discovered," she asked straight-forwardly. "And is there any intelligence as to how it came to be here?" The more both of them knew about the mission, the better, at least as far as she was concerned.

She cast the former Jedi a glare as he seemed to take pleasure in the fact that her job was likely to be harder than his. "And precisely what is Skywalker's mission," she asked, straight to the point. She needed to know what was going on if she were to play her assigned role correctly.

However, any further questions were stopped before they were even considered as the earth shook under her feet, the Force roiling as the population panicked. Things were too confused to get a clear picture as to what had happened, the Force not even able to translate the languages of the Felucians and Gossam that were hammering on the door. With a glance at Cade, Kura unclipped her lightsaber from her belt, cursing herself for not being clad in her fighting garb. "I believe our presence is required," she said, her tone curt and short, and headed for the door, before turning back to the General. "I need this open immediately," she said, her tone brooking no argument. "We must investigate what is happening."

The GAI agent shrugged, "It's complicated - basically the 'farmers' believe that the Jungle Felucians turning on THEM is the fault of the Gossams... to be fair, they aren't far wrong - it's the Jungle Felucian's forests and jungles that the Gossams are building their stim-farms and military retreats in... the Gossam's tolerate the farmers as a cheap source of food," shrugging again, the GAI agent said, "The Jungle Felucian's are pretty close to 'rabid' from what I've heard... that's about all the reason they want or need," nodding at Kura's assessment, the General said, "The Gossam's have laid claim to this world for several hundred years - it's only ever been known for the production of herbs and stimulants used in both medical and recreational drugs... and, beyond the fact that one of the local pollens is a key component in death sticks..."

Sighing, the GAI agent said, "According to local legend, the Jungle Felucian's didn't exist until after the Gossams came - the farmers speak of their distant cousins going into the swamps and... danging naked or something, the point is that the farmers are content to ignore - and be ignored - by the Gossams. The jungle-dwellers aren't, and they're out to prove that no matter who they're fighting,"

In and of itself, Cade didn't envy the young Jedi - but he did understand why the council had sent her. She wasn't here to negotiate - she wasn't here to save the job. She had a much more... bizarre task. She had to keep each side 'balanced' enough to keep them arguing without seeking action outside the negotiation table... no easy task. But as a Knight - as someone who was young - she could probably use her 'appearance' and youth to catch the locals off guard. Between the force and her own physical 'eccentricities' they might get lucky and she could string this out well into the next ice age.

The mention of one of the local pollens being used in the construction of death sticks didn't surprise Cade - he'd made runs for that pollen before, but that had been back when he hadn't been in control of his... worse habits... back when he'd willingly take jobs for nothing more than the sticks themselves...

"Oh there's intelligence alright," the GAI agent said, "That's what started the whole mess - bunch of the farmers found their live-stock... the big blue glowing bugs that live here, slaughtered - several herds either gutted with the Lightsaber or... uh..." scratching the back of his neck, the general muttered, "Inside out... or exploded..." blinking once, Cade snorted, "Wait... how-" the GAI agent shrugged lamely, "Literally - exploded, scorch-marks from lightning bolts were also found at the scene of the crime... as for the inside out... we're guessing force-use there. See, one of the perpetrators caught was wounded - younger than the rest. Jungle Felucian, as we said, but he was wearing armor from Gossam bodyguards, and that Lightsaber," she said, pointing at the weapon, "As we mentioned, contains power-packs and crystals from Coruscant, and the architecture matches a basic one sith design... so..."

"The farmers blamed the gossams for stirring the hornets nest, the gossams blamed the jungle dwellers for being 'rebellious' and started burning the forests around their areas on the planet," the general exhaled nervous, "And the jungle dwellers started attacking the outlying gossam stim-factories," the GAI agent snorted, "I believe... mess, was the best sum-up," glancing at the general when Kura asked about Skywalker, the GAI agent was about to speak when Cade said, "I'm guessing my job is to take the creepy spike-hilt and go walkin in the jungle 'till I strike it lucky, right?" the general actually laughed (which surprised Cade) but then he'd been on Felucia for several months now trying to sort this out, Cade's amusing (some would say moronic) sum-up probably sounded hilarious "That's about the gist of it, yes... that's why we needed two Jedi. One who could fiddle with a bunch of alien brains and pheromones at once and stall for time, and one who could do some sort of tracking on those Jungle-dwellers that GA troops and agents can't manage,"

Kura and Cade were heading towards the door before the General was even done giving orders - but the GAI agent had the presence of mind before starting up her holoshroud to point towards the back, "You might want to take the skylight, probably better than facing all of them when they're worried like that," about-facing when one of the gossams grabbed one of the guards outside the door and started yelling at her, Cade muttered, "I'll leave panic clean-up to you guys, whatever's just happened probably needs more than you've got," entering the service-section, Cade looked up and - pushing with the force - shoved the skylight open. Flexing his arms, Cade shrugged his longcoat off (checked his various pockets and weapons strapped to his belt and left pants leg) and jumped through the skylight.

His metal-reinforced boots clanging against the roof, Cade held his Lightsaber in his hand but kept it deactivated - reverse-gripped in his hand as he stretched out his senses. Panic... panic... lots of panic... but one area of the city - at the far end - were icy cold. Almost blank... yelling in surprise as the city 'tilted' for a second, Cade steadied himself against the surface of the roof and focused on the 'area' in question, "Guessin from all the smoke and the uncertain terrain that whatever's goin down is goin down there... shall we run for our lives?" he asked the young Jedi, offering his gloved hand and a silly grin, "I promise to be a gentleman at all times and only cop a feel when you jump,"

Chuckling to himself Cade backflipped and headed across the nearest rooftop, "Or maybe I'll just beat you there!"

Kura listened to the woman's assessment of the Jungle Felucians carefully, nodding in all the appropriate places. "I do not know whether you are aware, but the Jungle Felucians have had dealings with the Togruta before," she explained. "Jedi Master Shaak Ti spent many years here, training the Jungle Felucians to use the Force, and how to resist the Dark Side." She set her chin at a determined tilt. "It has been done once before, and it can be done again, if needs be." Shaak Ti had actually taken on the role of a Chieftain within the Jungle Felucians, and had been much revered. Of course, Kura wouldn't have the time to effect such drastic changes as Shaak Ti had, but she could at least use her influence within the meting. And with her connection to the Living Force being strong, she most likely had a chance to succeed in making a connection where Skywalker could fail.

A wry twitch of her lips upwards as the intelligence agent gave them a little piece of local legend. "No matter, Master Shaak Ti did not believe them beyond redemption, and, to that end, neither do I," she said resolutely. As far as she was concerned, even though the negotiations were effectively little more than a sham, Kura fully intended to try to at least make a difference.

Frowning lightly as the intelligence agent explained what they had by way of evidence, Kura raised an eyebrow. "That is evidence," she replied. "Not intelligence. Do you have any other information that would be prudent to pass on before we begin?" Much as she and Cade had butted heads since they had met, they still needed to work together, and be on the same page. Without the same goals in mind, and in possession of the same information, the mission was dead on its feet before they began.

"If you required a Jedi who could affect the pheromones of others, you should have requested a Falleen," replied Kura bluntly. "However, I will do my best to ensure that negotiations are ongoing." The clamour outside grew ever louder, the obvious panic at the earthquake increasing incrementally. Kura allowed herself a smirk as the intelligence agent suggested the skylight, and she shrugged off her outer robe, leaving her standing in her tunics and trousers. While she would be much happier and more comfortable in her fighting garb, she had felt that the traditional Jedi clothing might be more appropriate for what amounted to peace talks.

Cade was already on the roof as Kura positioned herself beneath the skylight, ready to jump, and she cast him a sharp glare. "If you even attempt to 'cop a feel', I shall have to remove your hand," she replied icily, using the Force to propel herself through the skylight, landing lightly on the roof in her hide-bound feet. The roof was cold against her feet as she watched Cade backflip off, and Kura took a few moments to breathe deeply, feeling the swirling maelstrom of the Force on Felucia, a wild and powerful... entity, almost.

Yes... I can work with this...

The hubbub outside the building they had been inhabiting seemed to be lessening, and, just before she tore off after Cade, she heard the voice of the General commenting on how surprising it was that the massed crowds outside had suddenly composed themselves. "Skywalker, wait," she called, not too far behind him as he headed for what felt like a dead area of the settlement, an area so devoid of the Force that it might as well have been a vacuum.
